Sorry for the long vacation on this technical blog, I have been scouring and meddling too much with my original one http://www.kumagcow.com so you know how it is to be busy. Anyway I am back with a vengeance!
This is to review the new DI622 flash I got for my NIKON D60 Digital Camera. This was actually highly recommended by other photographers and it looks quite promising at first bite. The actual unit is quite big, but if you compare it to the specs of the original SB Series by Nikon, it is actually half the price but performance wise, this is quite awesome. I got to test it out with my photographer friends and have it slaved by our pop up flashes. I did get around a couple of failed remote bursts. Though that did not compare to the same ability of it to detect flash from the actual camera and do flares for us that evening. It was even very easy to navigate these functions on the menu button. There are no displays though which could really help but even so it was quite easy to understand the functions. For performance in half the cost, it is really not that bad... actually I think it even outperformed one of the models by Nikon.
Nissin has gone a long way from producing compatible third party accessories for digital cameras. Since I had it for a few months now, it looks like I will never regret buying it. A drawback maybe its performance with the phottix diffuser, it does not penetrate the diffuser that much that it darkened some of the pics I took this weekend.

It still falls on the photographer on how he adjusts the settings, I highly recommend you get this one now since they also updated the firmware on these units for remote triggers.
